| Crete is the largest island in Greece and the fourth largest in the Mediterranean. It is an island of incredible beauty steeped in history and rich tradition. One will find large bustling cities and towns, small mountain villages, many archeological sites to explore and protected natural areas home to diverse flora and fauna (some only native to Crete). We strongly promote and support tourism that protects our environment and treasured traditions without exploitation. For all these reasons we invite you to participate in one (or more) of the following activities.
- Trekking/walking tours including traditional villages, archeological sites, sheppards’ trails, monasteries, gorges etc.
- Exploration and discussion of the landscape
- Herb trails
- Cookery lessons specialising in Cretan cuisine
- Fishing trips and snorkeling
- Greek language lessons with a difference!
- Starting the day with breakfast at a café this tour leads to a local historical site and ends near the beach, focusing on simple Greek phrases and learning how to converse at the café, in a shop or with your neighbour.

- Greek and Cretan dance lessons with an instructor
- This informal activity takes place on the beach during the early evening and focuses on the history, style and practices the various dances. It is followed by a light supper at a local taverna.
- Local festivals. At certain times during the year local villages hold their traditional festivals. These are very colourful evenings to participate in. Long trestle tables are assembled for the guests to savour the wonderful food cooked by the village women, drink the local raki and enjoy the Cretan dancing.
